Hi, I’m Seble Tesfaye. 28 years old, born and raised in Addis Ababa, graduated from AAU with Sociology (BA) and Gender Studies (MA). I currently work with acrylic paint on canvases. I’ve always loved creating and sketching on paper but I started painting on canvas in 2020, while working at my former office job. I was completely drawn to painting that I was inclined to put my entire focus on it.

I am mainly inspired by people’s emotions, feelings and sceneries. In my paintings, the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. I try to make my artworks as a portal to a different facet of the human psyche, revealing the complexities of our emotional landscapes, from the haunting portrayal of despair to the weight of loneliness on rainy days.

My styles are mostly expressionism and symbolism, I go with abstract styles, intuitive portraits, cityscapes and landscapes. I usually try not to have a specific method in my mind of how I’m going to get to the end result while painting; hence allowing myself to fully let go and pave a free way to bring my vision to life onto the canvas. Through my paintings, viewers are encouraged to confront their inner demons and gain a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of human existence.
